How it works
Venus Viva is Advanced Technology to Remodel Your Skin
Venus Viva treats both the surface skin layer (epidermis) and deeper skin tissue (dermis), leaving you with maximum benefits and minimal discomfort. The treatment combines NanoFractional radiofrequency and SmartScan technology to remodel and resurface your skin. The handpiece delivers energy through the skin in a “stamping” technique (similar to the IPL), generating heat while stimulating fibroblasts and rebuilding collagen.
The Viva Diamond Polar is a special Venus Viva handpiece that uses radiofrequency and magnetic pulses, which stimulates the generation of new collagen and elastin fibres over time. Diamond Polar treatments are comfortable, and anesthetic is not required. This treatment is a skin tightening device, which can be used on its own or as a complement to Venus Viva.

Your Guide to the Venus Viva Treatment
Before the Treatment
Do not use anti-inflammatories, such as ibuprofen, one week before or after treatments. The inflammation created by the Venus Viva and the Viva Diamond Polar is part of the process to stimulate new collagen.
During the Treatment
A layer of numbing cream will be applied to the treated area. You’ll feel prickling and heat, similar to an elastic band snapping your skin. The strength of the procedure is customized, so the technician can adjust settings for your comfort.
After the Treatment
You may notice redness and mild swelling of the treatment zone, which will subside within 12–24 hours. After 24–72 hours, you’ll see pinpoint crusts where the electrode pins contact your skin. These resolve naturally and can be covered with makeup.

What is the Cost of Venus Viva?
A Venus Viva treatment varies from $400 to $600, depending on the treatment zone. A single session of Venus Viva face begins at $600, with price increases correlated to the treatment zone. To ensure our treatments are as affordable as possible, we offer treatment packages, which maximize savings as treatment areas and sessions are purchased collectively.
Please notify Dr. Frame and your laser technician if you have any of the following possible exclusions for this treatment:
- Pacemaker or internal defibrillator or any other active implant in your body.
- Current or history of any kind of cancer or precancerous moles.
- Permanent implant in the treatment area such as metal plates and screws.
- Severe concurrent conditions, such as cardiac disorders.
- Pregnant or nursing.
- Impaired immune system.
- Herpes simplex (a prescription for Valtrex can be supplied by Dr. Frame).
- Any active condition in the treatment areas, such as sores, psoriasis, eczema, or rash.
- Poorly controlled diabetes.
- History of abnormal healing, such as keloid scarring.
- Blood thinners.
- Facelift or eye lift surgery within a year of treatment.
- Facial resurfacing, dermabrasion or deep chemical peeling within the last 3 months.
- Use of Accutane within 6 months prior to treatment.
- Excessive tanning from the sun, tanning beds, or self-tanning creams within 2 weeks of your treatment.
A contraindication refers to a symptom or medical condition that prevents you from receiving a particular treatment because it may be harmful.
Venus Viva is a gentle treatment that usually does not require social downtime, so it’s ideal if you prioritize discreet and fast results.
During your appointment, your skilled laser technician will walk you through the post-treatment skincare protocol. Generally, exfoliants, such as retinol, salicylic acid, and glycolic acid should be avoided for at least one week following the procedure.
Yes, Venus Viva can be applied to dark skin as it uses technology that is safe and effective for all skin tones and mixed ethnicities.
Venus Viva treatments can be slightly uncomfortable but not painful. A numbing cream will be applied. During the treatment, you’ll feel intense heat, similar to a sunburn.
After receiving the Venus Viva treatment, the treated area will be red and feel warm, much like a sunburn. Over the next 24 hours, this feeling subsides but the redness can last for up to 7 days. During these 7 days, the treated area will feel rough, but don’t worry, this will naturally shed off.
