Treatment overview
PicoWay Laser
PicoWay is a laser so fast it’s measured in picoseconds (a trillionth of a second). The speed and peak energy at which it operates allows for effective and safe laser skin treatments with no downtime. Short laser pulses work to resolve unwanted signs of aging as it stimulates natural collagen production for younger-looking skin.

How it works
PicoWay Uses Picosend Technology for Beautiful Skin
The PicoWay has several handpieces that allow it to operate for different needs. For rejuvenation, we use the Resolve handpieces to treat acne scarring and wrinkles, while the Zoom handpiece treats dark spots and moles.
The Resolve handpiece fractionates the laser into 101 small beams that are highly effective for collagen growth stimulation. The Zoom handpiece focuses a single beam at a specific spot to eradicate the pigment.
The laser works using picosecond technology. It operates at a range between 300–375 picoseconds. The laser is designed to work below the skin surface, therefore not breaking the upper dermis layer. Its ultra-speed is so fast that the body doesn’t recognize the penetration, allowing for a near pain-free treatment with minimal discomfort.
The treatment experience
Planning Your PicoWay Laser Treatment
Your experience begins with a consultation with one of our expert staff. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan that best suits your needs. We review your concerns, expectations, skincare regimen, price estimates, and your relevant medical history during your session. This information helps ensure you get the results you’re looking for with realistic expectations. Skin treatments are 100% personalized and can vary in strength, the number of sessions, and the combination of treatments.
Your Guide to PicoWay Laser Treatment
Before the Treatment
Inform us about any current or past medical condition, disease, or medication(s) that you take. Avoid exposure to excessive sunlight, tanning booths, and self-tanning skin care products for 2 weeks leading up to your PicoWay appointment.
During the Treatment
The laser may feel like tiny pinpricks to the skin, a mild discomfort, but the treatment doesn't hurt. Following the procedure, a calming cream will be applied along with a chemical-free sunblock to the treated area.
After the Treatment
Your skin will appear red for the first 24–48 hours, which will improve in a few days. We advise not to plan any events the evening after your treatment. The following 6–8 weeks will slowly reveal your desired results.
Pricing
How Much is PicoWay Laser?
The cost of our PicoWay treatment varies from $500 for post-surgical scars up to $1,200 for face and neck.
PicoWay laser costs depend on treatment area and concern. Melasma spots and full-face treatment usually cost $800, while post-surgical scars typically cost $500. Face and neck combined cost $1,200. To ensure our treatments are as affordable as possible, we offer treatment packages, which maximize savings as treatment areas and sessions are purchased collectively. Financing is also available.
The number of treatments depends on the area and the concern that you have. Skin tightening and acne scarring may require 4–6 treatments, while dark spots and moles may only need 1–2 treatments. In most cases, treatments will be spaced about 3 to 8 weeks apart.
Avoid the following products 4-7 days before your PicoWay Laser treatment.
- Electrolysis
- Waxing
- Depilatory Creams
- Laser Hair Removal
- BOTOX® injections (should wait 1 week)
Also, 3-5 days before your PicoWay Laser treatment, avoid the following products and/or procedures:
- Any exfoliating products that may be drying or irritating
- Retin-A®, Renova®, Differin®, Tazorac®
- Any products containing retinol, alpha -hydroxy acid (AHA), beta-hydroxy acid (BHA), or benzoyl peroxide
- Patients who have had medical cosmetic facial treatments such as laser therapy, dermal fillers etc., should wait until skin sensitivity completely resolves
This treatment is meant to be done in conjunction with your skincare routine. After your first laser session, we recommend using a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and sunblock of at least SPF 30, reapplying every 2 hours. Your skin is sensitive after laser treatment, so it’s vital to protect it from the sun.
Some patients may experience short-term effects, such as redness, itching, mild burning, swelling, or temporary bruising. Pigmented areas may appear darker or lighter for the first several days but return to normal pigmentation colour in less than a week. You may see darker spots peeling or falling off in the treatment site, but this is a normal part of the process.
The PicoWay laser is not as aggressive as the DOT laser. The DOT laser requires one week of downtime. You can achieve similar results with PicoWay by scheduling a series of treatments.
