How it works
Prevents muscle contractions
Neuromodulators, or botulinum neurotoxins, are neurotransmitter inhibitors that relax and/or prevent muscle contraction in targeted areas.
When muscles contract, they produce “dynamic wrinkles,” which, over time, create permanent lines. Skilled professionals can precisely manipulate neuromodulators to prevent these muscle contractions. In a preventative sense, this stops wrinkles from forming. Neuromodulators are also often used for uplifting regions of the face and in combination with dermal fillers to smooth out pre-formed facial lines.
Neuromodulators can also be used for therapeutic purposes. Neuromodulators can have life-changing effects for involuntary muscle contraction, excessive sweating, and chronic migraines.
The treatment experience
100% personalized treatment
Your experience begins with a consult with one of our expert staff. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan that best suits your needs. We review your concerns, expectations, skincare regimen, price estimates, and your relevant medical history during your session. This information helps ensure you get the results you’re looking for with realistic expectations.
What to expect with your neuromodulator treatment
Before the Treatment
The medical assistant will take photos of you, which will remain private, and be used as a tool to clearly communicate your treatment plan.
During the Treatment
The treatment area is numbed with ice then fine needles are injected into the relevant active muscles. You’ll feel a prick, and it’s over quickly. If there is bleeding, the treated area is pressed hard to avoid bruising.
After the Treatment
Avoid squeezing or massaging the treated areas for several hours, as this could subtly change the results. No excessive sun or heat until any swelling and redness have resolved. Avoid laying your head down for 4 hours and excessive exercise for 24 hours.
Pricing
How much does a neuromodulator treatment cost?
During your consultation, we will evaluate the muscles that need to be relaxed in order to achieve your desired reduction of dynamic wrinkles when certain facial expressions are made. The number of neuromodulators used will depend on the strength, size, and area of the muscle that needs to be treated.
At our clinic, our top priority is to achieve natural-looking results with the least amount of neuromodulators units in order to prevent a frozen look effect or droopiness that indicates overuse of neuromodulators. The price is $13/unit for your initial treatment and $11/unit for maintenance appointments. Lower pricing is available for therapeutic use.
You should not have neuromodulator injections if you:
- Are pregnant and/or nursing.
- Are allergic to albumin.
- Had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product.
- Have an infection, skin condition, or muscle weakness at the planned injection site(s).
- Are being treated for urinary incontinence and have a urinary tract infection (UTI).
- Have a disease that affects your muscles and nerves, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease), myasthenia gravis, Lambert-Eaton syndrome, or Parkinson’s.
