Sun Spots

Reduce your sun spots and prevent further sun damage

Overview

Sun Spots

Age spots, sun spots, or liver spots affect any part of your body exposed to the sun’s ultraviolet radiation, and they increase with age. You may now notice sun damage surfacing that you acquired when you were 17.

When your skin is exposed to UV rays, it produces more melanin (pigment) to protect the deeper layers. The more sun your skin gets, the darker the pigment becomes. You may remember to put sunscreen on your face but don’t forget your hands. When combined with daily washing, your hands are vulnerable to harmful rays.

WHAT CAN BE DONE?

How to Get Rid of Sun Spots?

It’s essential to make a daily habit of applying sunscreen to your hands, arms, face, and body to prevent further sun damage. Re-apply when needed. We recommend using a zinc oxide-based sunblock, as it has the broadest UVA and UVB coverage.

To help reduce sunspots, we offer laser and light-based treatments and lightening creams. The creams are better if your skin tone is fair-coloured.
