CoolSculpting® is an effective and safe treatment for non-invasive fat reduction. It uses the mechanism of controlled freezing, along with your body’s own elimination systems, to gently remove targeted undesired fat. Diet and exercise are recommended to help lose weight in a healthy way, but diet and exercise can’t target specific areas of fat that can be stubborn to lose (think: the inner thighs, upper arms or abdomen). While CoolSculpting® isn’t intended to be an overall weight loss solution, it can help to eliminate those stubborn areas of fat.
CoolSculpting® is a safe and effective treatment for reducing subcutaneous fat which is located just below the skin rather than intramuscular fat which is located within the muscle (think marbling in beef).
Although CoolSculpting® is a wonderful treatment to eliminate stubborn fat there are some people it is not suited for. People who have the following conditions should not try CoolSculpting® because of the risk of dangerous complications. These conditions include:
- cryoglobulinemia
- cold agglutinin disease
- paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria (PCH)
Ideal CoolSculpting Candidate
You are an ideal candidate if you are in good overall health, and have unwanted fat in specific areas that you want to get rid of. CoolSculpting® is a great non-surgical alternative to liposuction that is non-invasive and has little to no downtime. Ideally, you want to be within 10-15lbs of your ideal body weight and able to maintain that weight. You may also need more than one CoolSculpting® to completely eliminate a targeted area, depending on how much fat is in that area.
You can take a quick quiz to see if you are a candidate for the CoolSculpting® procedure.
