Neuromodulator and dermal fillers and love the way you look and feel, keeping these treatments up can cost a pretty penny. And YES they can become a necessity!
So, how much should you budget for if you plan to take that 5 years off your age and keep them off?
Of course, everyone will have a different answer but here is a bit of a guide to help you.
30’s and 40’s
People in their 30’s and 40’s obviously need less neuromodulators and fillers to get their face back to where it was five or ten years ago.
One vial of filler in cheeks, one in the marionettes and a half in the lips and half in the nasolabial folds may be all that is needed in filler. Their neuromodulators will run between $300 and $600 every 3-4 months. Now depending on where you go, the cost of that maintenance program would range from about $3000-$4000 per year.
Does that sound like a lot? Well just consider how much you spent last year on anti-wrinkle creams that did very little other than moisturize your skin. It may surprise you but the average woman spends over $2000 per year on cosmetic creams and potions.
50’s and 60’s
When people in their 50’s or 60’s decide that it’s time to get something done, chances are that they have lost a large amount of volume in their cheeks, lips and if they are lean, most likely their temples. In order for them to fill all of these areas, it could cost upwards of $5000+. Most will start with their cheeks which will also give them a slight lift of their nasolabial folds as well. This area can also soften under eye grooves and bags and get rid of that tired look that often comes with a line that forms diagonally down the cheeks (Nasojugal groove) when the top fat pad and the midface fat pads separate.
There are several options of fillers for cheeks which require a thick filler. These thicker fillers tend to last longer (one year or longer) so estimating that you will need 1-2 vials per side, maintaining your round youthful cheeks may cost $1400-$2800 per year.
Once a patient has dived in and loves her new cheeks and realizes that not even her partner noticed she’s had anything done, she will usually move to the area around the mouth.
Marionette Lines
The marionette lines (the ones that run vertically from the corners of your mouth to your jawline) are in the area that supports the corners of the mouth. So “feathering in” filler to this area not only refreshes those dents but also turns the corners of your mouth up slightly, making you look happier. One vial split between both sides is a good start but you may need a vial per side at this point, which may need to be topped up in 6 months with just one vial. This is because the mouth area endures so much movement, the filler tends to disappear more quickly.
So now we are looking at about $800 twice a year for rejuvenating the mouth, if there are smokers lines or thin lips, adding another vial of very thin filler will deal with those.
The need for neuromodulators also increases with age but then after years of repeated treatments, you usually need less. An average treatment for someone in this age group is 60+ units to treat the frown-lines, crow’s feet & forehead wrinkles…so about $700 every 3-4 months.
The good news is that once you are filled and relaxed, you may not need the full-meal-deal every year. Plus you don’t want to keep escalating how much you use as you age as it can tend to make you look unnatural. Remember, we want to look good for our age, not good for a 20-year-old!
So that’s it if you are in your 50’s and 60’s, about $6000 per year will keep you looking and feeling amazing!
Of course, you can do less, this is just a realistic estimate if you were wanting to treat all of the most common issues.
Sure we used to be able to buy a pretty good car for that, but those days are long gone, my friend. The average woman in the 1950’s also looked like she was 80 on her 45th birthday. We now have safe, painless, ways to rejuvenate our faces, our calling card to the world and whether you like or not, looking younger than your years is the societal standard.
You will feel and act more confident, that is the one side effect, so start popping money into your jar and spend it on yourself for a change.
