Best Tips for Saving Money and Saving Face with Injectable Treatments

It is so much easier to maintain a cosmetic result than to recreate it all over again.

I can’t stress enough the importance of being re-treated with your neuromodulators or fillers  before your results totally wear out. Once those beautiful cheeks deflate and your lip border completely disappears, you are looking at much more cost and hassle to get them back to the point where you loved them.

To fill your cheeks the first time, depending on how much filler you needed, might have been upward of one, to several thousand dollars. Instead of waiting a year or two more for when you become deflated, what if you came in at the 9 month mark and got a small ‘top up’ with one syringe? Then, top up again in another 6 months, you will find it is much more cost effective to do small re-treatments rather than that  full ‘fill’ again.

Also, if you keep your treatments a secret from friends, co-workers or family then it is much more noticeable if one day you have lines and the next day you don’t.

When you have wrinkle treatments with neuromodulators, try coming in right on the 3 month mark, just before it completely wears out and your lines are back. This way your youthful, refreshed look will remain consistent and no one will suspect. It will be “just how you always look.”

No way around it, if you have a good amount of volume to replenish in different areas of your face, like cheeks, temples, marionette lines etc., your initial outlay will be expensive. Look at it this way though, if you bought a new car and didn’t take it for one tune up in 20 years, how much do you think it would cost to get it back to good running condition, if it’s even running at all? I can guarantee you it would be a whole lot more than if you had just paid for your regular 5,000k, $75 tune up.

This is how those of us in the cosmetic industry do it. A little here, a little there, lost a bit of weight?…let’s put just one syringe in to make up for the volume I didn’t want to lose on my face.

The best time to re-treat is when you see a noticeable loss in the volume. With thicker fillers this could be 9-12 months. If you have a fast metabolism and are very active or athletic, you may need a bit more at 6 months.

If you’ve had a thinner filler, you will want to consider a top up at 5-9 months. Of course, everyone is different so make your booking ahead of time, you can always change or cancel it but it’s easier to get the reminder and assess whether it’s time rather than to forget and wake up a year later thinking, “damn I’m back to square one!”

So, even though it saves you money and makes us less, we get to see you more often and we do love that!
