Underarm Hair

Remove unwanted underarm hair

Overview

Underarm Hair

In our culture, most women (and many men) consider hairy armpits unattractive, unsightly, and slightly embarrassing, unlike some European countries.

Waxing, shaving, and plucking hairy underarms are short-term solutions that can be efficiently performed at home but must be repeated frequently, often leaving your skin bumpy and irritated and often with a darker texture.

WHAT CAN BE DONE?

How to Get Rid of Underarm Hair?

Most laser hair removal devices reduce hair by 15 percent with each treatment. Only those follicles in the “growth stage” can be eradicated with laser hair removal. The resting or shedding phase of hair follicles remains untreated until they, too, enter the growth stage.

Specific lasers, such as Nd:YAG, are better for darker skin but more painful on lighter skin. Other laser hair removal devices are coupled with radiofrequency devices to target lightly pigmented hair better, such as blonde, grey, or red.

We recommend:

  • Shaving, waxing, or threading.
  • IPL hair removal.
  • Laser hair removal coupled with radiofrequency (elos or e-laser RF diode device).

OUR TREATMENTS

Underarm Hair Removal Treatments

At Anti-Aging Medical & Laser Clinic, we offer underarm hair removal treatments. We can also combine treatments to help reduce unwanted hair longer.

Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair permanently reduces unwanted hair from your body, including underarms. This FDA Approved treatment uses concentrated beams of light to penetrate the hair follicle and destroy the hair. It is useful for hair that has pigment, such as black or brown hair.

Radiofrequency

Adding a radiofrequency treatment to your laser hair removal may help improve your results to removing underarm hair. Since blonde or red hair has difficulty with the laser hair removal treatment, combining radiofrequency with laser hair removal gives you better results (not offered at our clinic).

IPL Hair Removal

Although not as effective as Laser Hair Removal, IPL also known as intense pulsed light technology, can be used to remove underarm hair. Since IPL is not as intense as laser hair removal, it is the more gentle and effective option for those with sensitive skin (not offered at our clinic).
